Abstract:In order to explore the influence of different processes in the polylactic acid (PLA) film formation on the smoke cooling performance, three kinds of PLA films were prepared by blow molding, stretching and casting processes and further processed into corresponding filter rods. The heat transfer characteristics of the three PLA films were tested, including heat transfer coefficient, thermal conductivity, etc.. The cooling ability of the three PLA filter rods on the hot air flow was also investigated. The results showed that the PLA stretch film was in the best cooling effect. It could be concluded that the difference in molecular chain orientation and crystallization caused by the difference in thermal history and force history among three film forming processes was the main reason that affected the heat transfer efficiency of the three filter rods. Therefore, the cooling performance of the PLA film as a filter rod material can be controlled by adjusting the molding process of the PLA film, which will provide useful guidance for the design and processing of the heating cigarette cooling filter rod.
