Dianthus is a valuable genetic resource for flower breeding because of its gorgeous color and high resistance. In this work, SRAP fingerprints were constructed to explore genetic diversity of the Dianthus flower germplasm at the molecular level. Results showed that 44 Dianthus flowers were divided into 5 groups, which was the same as species classification. Intraspecific classification was consistent with flower color and plant type. Species was the main factor in the classification of Dianthus, while flower color and plant type were the main indicators in intraspecific classification. In this study, it was known that SRAP molecular markers could effectively distinguish Dianthus flower germplasm, which could provide some technical support and theoretical basis for the identification and protection of Dianthus flower germplasm resources, breeding application and molecular mechanism research.
