Abstract:The investigation on Ophiocordyceps and its allies in three different bamboo forests from Anhui province were studied. The result showed that there were four species of Ophiocordyceps and five species of entomogenous fungi as follows, Ophiocordyceps sobolifera Hill ex Watson, O. gracilioides Kobayasi, Cordyceps cicadae Shing, O. sp., Isaria cicadae Miq.,I. tenuipes Peck.,Beauveria bassiana Balsamo,B. brongniartii Sacc.,Metarhizium cylindrosporae Q. T. Chen & H. L. Guo. I. cicadae, of which, the most dominant species, comprised more than 60% in each bamboo forest. The main host was nymph of cicadidae with more than 80% of frequency in all sample plots. Meanwhile the occurrence rules and cycle of I. cicadae was explored.
