Abstract:The resistance to stress factors of bacillus subtilis from swine intestinal juice was studied. This strain was respectively inoculated in nutrition broth at pH 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 for 3, 6 and 9 h,in 0.1%,0.3% and 0.5% bile salt nutrition broth for 4 and 8 h,in nutrition broth at 70,80,90 and 100 ℃ water bath for 10 and 20 min,and in nutrition broth containing 0, 100, 200, 300, 400 and 500 mg·L-1 of Cu and Zn ions for 24 h.The survival rate of bacillus subtilis was measured.Protease and amylase activities were determined after the bacteria was cultured at normal broth for 24 and 48 h, The results showed that Bacillus subtilis from swine intestinal juice had strong resistance to acid and bile salt, 71.8%-91.5% of the bacteria survived at temperature of 70-90℃. Cu ions could promote propagation of bacillus subtilis, but Zn ions could inhibit propagation of bacillus subtilis. Bacillus subtilis was able to produce high activity of protease, but low amylase. It is conclud that this bacteria has relatively strong resistance to acid, bile salt, high temperature and Cu ions.
