Abstract:To evaluate and analyze the breeding values of the milk yield and the body type traits in Holstein sires by male livestock model BLUP, the number of sire daughters, which amounted 10 or higher than 10, was used as the confining factor, and the linear model yijk=μ+hi+sj+eijk was set up. The results showed that the number of daughters of 23 Holstein sires was 33 at average level, while the number of daughters of Holstein sires, whose breeding values of the milk yield were from the first to the tenth, was 20.8 at average level. The breeding values of the body type traits of Holstein sires, whose estimating breeding values of the milk yield were from the first to the tenth, were also excellent; No. 7 Holstein sire had 33 daughters, and its breeding values of the milk yield and the body type traits were all the first in 23 Holstein sires. In conclusion, the sires, whose breeding values of the milk yield were excellent, but not the best of production performance, and the breeding value of the milk yield was consistent with that of the body type traits in sires.
