Abstract:In this papers, the effects of four different soilloss media on biomass and the allocation patterns of total biomass to vegetative propagation, reproduction, total propagation and vegetive organ of pinellia ternate were studied. The four soilless media used in the experiments were listed as sand sand, husk sand, tree leaf sand, sawdust sand, which were regarded as four treatments and every medium was arranged in three small areas that were set vertically in a greenhouse, i.e. upper, middle and lower layer. The results showed that: root biomass of single plant planted in the sand sand medium of upper level were maxium;Husk sand medium was suitable for the tuber growth; Tree leaf sand medium was not profitable for accumulation of tuber biomass, but it was beneficial for growth of bulbil and leaf; The inflorescence biomass of single plant was higher than that of showing in middle level by using husk sand medium; The effects of the different soilless media on total biomass were consistent with their effects on tuber biomass. The allocation of total biomass to vegetative propagation (tuber, bulbil) was the highest in lower level by using sawdust sand medium; reproduction allocation in tree sand medium was higher than that in other soilless media; in sawdust sand medium, the rate of total propagation biomass (vegetative propagation, reproductive propagation) to total biomass of single plant ranked first; compared with the ratio in others media, the ratio of vegetative organ biomass to total biomass was the highest in tree leaf sand media of the same level.
