The morphological characteristics,living habitats and control measures of Urochela distincta Distant were studied.The insect mainly distributed in high altitudes more than 1 300 m in Huangshan Scenic Area.The host plants including Rhododendron anhweiense Wils., Sorbus alnifolia (Sieb. et Zucc.) K.Koch, Quercus stewardii Rehd., Symplocos paniculata (Thunb.) Wall., Tilia japonica (Mig.) Simonk., Tilia henryana Szyszyl.,Malus hupehensis (Pamp.) Rehd., Ligustrum longitubum Hsu., Sapium sebiferum (L.) Roxb., Fagus engleriana Seem., Ligustrum sinense Lour., Dendrobenthamia japonica (DC.) Fang var. chinensis (Osborn) Fang.They had one generation per year in Mt.Huangshan,and overwintered with adults,the adult could be found form May to October of the year.Bio-control of Beauveria bassiana and artificial habitation to entrap U.distincta were effective controlling methods.
