Soft X ray was first used to study wood properties in this paper.The results showed that the properties of ginkgo wood including the figure of cell,the layer structure of cell wall,microfibrillar orientation,pits in cross fields,etc were observed clearly.It is reliable to use this technology in wood anatomy study.
