The material of the article was drawn from five mature trees of Kalopanaxseptemlobus grown in a natural stands in Langya mountains,Anhui province.The results in-dicated that:1)the Kalopanax septemlobus was suitable for being made into pulp accordingto the features of its fibre dimensions;2) form pith outward, the fibre length first increasedrapidly,then increased slowly after the duration of 17 year;3) along the stem height,thefibre length increased gradually from base upward,reached maxiuin at 3.3m height and de-creased to the top of the trees,4)the radial variations of the fibre diameter,the fibre length-width and cell wall thickness-diameter ratio are samilar to the fibre length.
