Quantity characteristics for skull of 14 Dongliu adult buffalos in Anhui province have been studied. Results show that 21skull traits can be divided into 5 groups by cluster analysis. The representative characteristics for the 5 groups are skull dorsal length(48.64+2.54cm), mandible spatic width(MSW, 13.68+1.48cm), choana width(2.16+0.21cm), cornus length(40.46+6.85cm) and distance between mastoids of temporale bones (22.25+1.68cm): However, the variations for the following characteristics are insignificant(p>0.05): changes between hight and distance of two eye-orbits at medial point of dorsal margin on left and right, between distance of medial point of temporale and cornus processes on left and right and nose-bone length (16.54cm), between, skull depth and dorsal length(19.75cm), between zygomatic processes width and MSW (13.86cm), and between choana width and nose-jaw width (6: 80cm).
