Abstract:Morphological features of the stomach and intestine of protomusk-deer,Moshus moschiferus Palla, were studied. The results are as follows: The morphological feature and position. of stomach of the protomusk-deer is similar to that of sheep. It consists of 4 parts, rumen, reticulum, omasus and abomasum. Only the mucous membrane of the abomasum containsglands, The posterior ventra blind sacs of the rumen is obviously biggerthan posterie ventra blind sacs and the coudition is very pronounced ascompared to all the pillars of the rumen. The cells of reticulum do not havesubdivided smaller folds. There are 24 laminae in omasum subdivided and 17 spiral flods in abo-masum. The intestine of proto-musk-deer is characterised as follows: Beneathit is a blind paunch, or diverticulum in which there is a peyers gland (Nodulilymphtici aggregati) on the ventra of ileum papilla. The proximals ansa ofcolis is arranged in double elliptical coils between the layers of the mesentery.
