Abstract:The Mt. Qingliangfeng is an important part of the Tianmu mountains. It has a series of the floristic characteristics: 1) The floristic elements are comparatively rich. According to preliminary statistics in this region, there are about 1228 species (incl. ssp. var. and f.) of vascular plants, belonging to 601 genera of 181 families. Of these, there are about 578 species of woody plants, belonging to 242 genera of 91 families. 2) The flora of this region is characterized by ancient origin, with rich relic elements. In the 547 genera of seed plants, there are 31 world monotypic, 76 world olipotypic genera and 17 endemic genera of China. Most of them are phylogenetically ancient or primitive. 3) The flora shows obvious transition from the subtropical zone to the warm temperate zone. 4) Endemic elements are rare. 5) It is noted that the floristic geographical elements are complex and in connection to various degrees with other part of the floristic regions of the world.By the analysis of the basic floristic elements, it is proposed that this region belong to the northern part of mid-subtropical zone and this region may be considered one of few refuges of the old-tropical flora of Tertiary.
