Abstract:Since early 1980's, outstanding work has been achieved on control of food-borne disease by colonization control of enteropathogens in poultry and livestock, which based on Nurmi concept (occupation of the sites on the mu(?)a that salmonella invades and production of volatile fatty acids) of m(?)l competitive exclusion with normal gut-flora of healthy, salmonella-free adult bird; and more advanced development was completed by using a mixture anaerobic cultures of isolates from gut contents, so called defined exclusive cultures. It is an economic and effective measure against salmonella, the successful application of such treatment has been confirmed in several laboratorles, and it is worthy to try extending its uses in swine and duck.
