This paper deals with the taxon of Viburnum carlesii Hemsl.var.bitchiuense (Makino) Nakai collected from Dabieshan Mountain in Anhui province. It is an element that belongs to the East Asia-Japan Regional Flora. Its taxonomic history, morphological featUres and geographical distribution are described and discussed. The discovery of this plant in Anhui, China has no doubt provided us a valuable material for further study on the floristic relationship between Eastern China and japan,and the origin and development of the Flora of Debieshan Mountain.
